Excerpt
"The water was crystal clear, and the sun was shining brightly. It was a perfect day to be at the beach. My son, Ethan, was swimming in the shallows, just a few feet away from me. I was watching him, feeling happy and relaxed.
Suddenly, I saw a dark shape dart out of the water. It was a shark. It lunged at Ethan, and I screamed. The shark's teeth sank into Ethan's leg, and he was pulled underwater.
I dove into the water and swam towards Ethan. I could see the blood swirling around him. I grabbed him by the arm and pulled him to the surface. He was screaming in pain.
I held Ethan in my arms and swam back to shore. People on the beach were running towards us. I handed Ethan to a lifeguard, and he was rushed to the hospital.
The doctors worked for hours to save Ethan's leg. They were able to stop the bleeding, but the damage was severe. Ethan had lost a lot of blood, and he was in shock.
For days, we didn't know if Ethan would live. He was in a coma, and his vital signs were unstable. I sat by his bedside, holding his hand and praying.
Finally, Ethan woke up. He was weak and groggy, but he was alive. I was so relieved to see him open his eyes.
Ethan spent the next few months in the hospital, recovering from his injuries. He had to have multiple surgeries, and he underwent extensive physical therapy. But through it all, he never gave up.
Ethan is now a happy and healthy 12-year-old boy. He loves to play sports, and he dreams of becoming a doctor. He is an inspiration to me, and I am so proud of the young man he has become."
